A poster advertising a public demonstration to be chaired by Major Sir William Evans-Gordon on Tuesday 14th January 1902

The demonstration is organised by the British Brothers League and was aimed at gaining support for restricting further immigration by Jewish refugees from Eastern Europe.

COMMENTS ON THIS DOCUMENT:

The British Brothers League with Major Sir William Evans-Gordon set up the Royal Commission on Immigration.

Evidence was presented to the Commission by Major Sir William Evans-Gordon in his book The Alien Immigrant (1903) and the findings of the Commission led to the Aliens Act of 1905.
