The article presents a special case of agricultural immigration in the twentieth century, the Italians in the south western France that began in the 1920s until the early 1950s.
The article shows the different stages and characteristics of migration in the Transalpine region: from the encouragement of the landowners in response to local demographics situation (population decline due to losses of war and rural depopulation) to the positive impact on the region and its people.
