This report focuses on immigrants from the 1st generation, from North African or black African, who chose to grow old in France. It sheds light on the reasons for these choices, economic or otherwise, choice sometimes misunderstood by one side or the other of the Mediterranean. It also discusses the living conditions in homes Sonacotra.

COMMENTS ON THIS DOCUMENT:

Article on a topic that have been little discussed : immigrants workers arrived in France 40 or 50 years ago, when publics works or factories were short of arms. They were supposed to go "back home", and finally remained, often still living in homes SONOCOTRA. The motivations of no return are addressed by different examples.
