This collective work offers an assessment of the knowledge and the research in the fields of immigration and integration in French-speaking Belgium.
Created for a varied audience (researchers, teachers, students, journalists, social workers, citizens interested in the issue), it broaches the history of immigration, the successive public policies and the construction of immigration’s image, the place of immigrants on the labour market, the participation and the social and political mobilization around issues linked to the immigration issue and, finally, the new issues that see the light in this field.
A reference work, it sums us the knowledge about the broached topics but it also allows to « go further » thanks to the very numerous analyses and references to the researchers’ works and to the abundant bibliography given for each chapter.
