305 /2005 Social and legal protection of the Child Act
Zakon o socialnopravnej ochrane dietata a socialnej kuratele
The Act defines the social and legal protection of the child (under 18) to prevent all children from pathological influence and to secure the correct conditions for its development and growth. Names the institutions and their responsibilities to fulfill this purpose of child protection.
The Act is perceived as one of the key instrument of protection and minimal standards of rights providing to all children.
Related to migration the act defines new category named “separated children” – children of migrants, refugees many often, without a legitimate stay in Slovakia and without any adult responsible for them. Creates also conditions to secure their protection aside form regular refugee canters in new established facilities.
