DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS:

The study was conducted in the Community of Madrid, in four of the most important municipalities where Romanians live: Alcalá de Henares, Coslada, Arganda del Rey and Torrejón de Ardoz. The sample used for research was 832 Romanian immigrants. Immigrant communities are listed as "buffer areas”, created in the migration process and converted into "new" home of the Romanians, as they themselves declares: "I think it said that we are not Romanian in Romania, we are Romanian Spanish family".
In Alcalá de Henares and Arganda del Rey are leaving native Romanians from Transylvania and Banat, while in Coslada and Torejón de Ardoz are communities of immigrants coming in particular from Wallachia. Subsequently, migrant networks were extended to Moldova or other areas. One of the main features of Romanian immigration in the four communities is keeping the connection with the origin, not only from emotional, but for practical reasons as well. In this dynamic, inclusively relationship with religion is understood pragmatic by many immigrants.
In the second part of the study are presented thematic analysis that addresses subjective aspects of migrant life and issues of their working life, integration in host communities return migration, etc.
The survey shows that in Spain, the demand for labor focuses on the occupations with socioeconomic status and low prestige: workers and trade services, skilled and unskilled workers. As regards the Romanian economy in the communities examined, they tend to be mainly in the country of destination. Regarding the return migration, it is not just a project life, but a state of mind.
