DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS:

Declaration the staff of a French company should satisfy, whose name is not mentioned so as to define who was or was not Jewish.
The questions are -outside the usual information- (name, date and place of birth, rank or job and address) on ancestry in the maternal and paternal line, the spouse, as well as military information.

COMMENTS ON THIS DOCUMENT:


The Vichy government, conforms to the line of Nazis’ theories promulgated several laws on the "status of Jews” among which:
The Act of October 3, 1940 on the status of Jews
The law on foreign nationals of Jewish race from October 4, 1940
The Act of June 2, 1941 "replacing the Act of October 3, 1940 on the status of the Jews"
The Act of November 6, 1942 "on the stay and movement of foreign Jews."

The Jews of foreign origin could, under the law of October 4, be interned in special camps.
The first law, because of its professional prohibitions, aimed especially the bourgeoisie, but the second status affected much crafts: an activity practiced by lots of Jewish immigrants.

300,000 Jews were registered under the decisions of October.
Over 67,000 Jews were deported from the Drancy camp (which operated from August 1941 to August 1944), including 66% foreigners.
A total of 75,000 Jews were deported (sent to a concentration camp), or 25% of the registered, but the proportion of 40% foreigners and 10% of French
