The box: A century of immigration of Souths in France consists of 8 books containing more than 4,500 unpublished iconographic documents ranging from photography, posters, postcards to extracts of films.
These books relate the history of outside European immigration waves coming to France since the late 19th Century via an approach both regional and national, and that are the result of a 10-year study carried out by a group of searchers and scholars, academics.
The 8 volumes offer an overview on the history of outside European immigration whose goal is :
- the development of French immigration territories
- to inform on the way these territories received and considered these immigrations
- to link memories between generations.
They are of a great iconographic richness
