DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS:

The article reflects upon the experience of a married Romanian couple who emigrated to Canada. It talks about: the causes which led them to leave Romania – bureaucracy and corruption; their success there – they have a house, cars, a child; their sadness – they feel uprooted; their future hopes and fears: they would like to come back to Romania provided that they have the same opportunities as in Canada but they fear that will never happen as they visited Romania twice since they left and the situation is the same.

COMMENTS ON THIS DOCUMENT:

People usually emigrate because they are economically dissatisfied. Probem is that money doesn`t bring happiness: emigrants long after their people, country, their identity is lost, they have to adopt a new culture to which they can`t relate. People living there live a double life.
