DESCRIPTION OF LAW CONTENTS:

The act determines the conditions of gaining of Slovak citizenship. States the length of permanent stay required for foreigners to live in Slovakia before gaining citizenship. Name other conditions including family membership, knowledge of the language and the others.

COMMENTS ON THIS DOCUMENT:

The Act prolonged the length of the stay from 5 to 8 years required for gaining citizenship for foreigners living in Slovakia after receiving permanent stay. On the other hand simplifies conditions for gaining for former Slovak citizens. Towards migrants and foreigners is actual amendment perceived as more strict than the previous one.
